Nadine Lee: CEO of Speak the Dream Foundation, grew up in horrific conditions as a child in CT, somehow through the grace of God, Nadine turned a nightmare into a success story. Despite the painful memories, Nadine has decide to share her story with the world with the hopes that children don't have to suffer as she and her siblings suffered. Shelly Massey: Those who have experienced the sounds of Shelly Massey know that she is an experienced and creately inventive singer and song writer.
In 2004 she sang and recorded with R&B great Shirley Murdock on Ben’s Tankard's album
“Piano Prophet.” Then, in 2006, she co-wrote and recorded “Let’s Get Quiet,” from Ben’s
album of the same name.
It became the theme song of that CD, making that compliation number six on the
Comtemporary Jazz Charts.
In 2008 Shelly wrote and recorded, “My Lips Shall Utter Praises,” and it was the first single
to be released from Ben’s album, “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.” It receives an ever increasing
numbers of spins on the radio daily. Shelly will serve as the musical foundation for Nadine's story.
Andre Rochester: Andre Rochester is an up and coming artist from Hartford, CT. He studied Illustration at the University of Connecticut School of Fine Art. Since childhood, Andre has been fascinated by the visual arts. His medium of choice is acrylic paint but he has worked substantially with charcoal, watercolor, and pastel. He also has experience with lithography and intaglio printmaking. Since late 2009, Andre has been working on a series of portraits and abstract pieces. He illustrated a children's book titled, “The Sunflower and Rose”, written by Dana Rondel and released in May of 2010. He was a resident artist at Paris in Plantsville Gallery & Studio from March 2010 - March 2011 and is a founding member and current Vice President of the Pro+Cre8 Artist Group, a collective of artists from the Hartford area promoting creativity while uplifting the community.
Andre has also taught basic graphic design classes and gives demonstrations on non-traditional painting techniques with acrylic paints and mediums. "Working at after school programs is my way of giving back. Without programming like this I would've never taken art seriously. They taught me that it's ok to be creative and its ok to pursue something out of the ordinary, I hope to provide programs of my own to keep our youth making art and using it as a means of self expression", he says about his teaching experience. Andre will bring his classic illustrations to Nadine's story.
